ServiceNation is a non-partisan campaign to expand citizen service opportunities, solve problems through service, and make service a core ideal in our democracy.
ServiceNation is a campaign by the people, for the people, and--especially--of the people. Your help, your ideas and your energy are vital to the success of the campaign.
Our focus right now is a signature drive for the Declaration of Service, our idealistic manifesto on the importance and role of service in our democracy. We're trying to get one million signatures, and we need your help.
If you haven't already, please help us spread the word, share your story, and explore service opportunities. To learn more about the ServiceNation campaign.
On September 11 & 12, 2008 the ServiceNation campaign kicked off with a summit that included a Presidential Candidates Forum on Service that featured Senators Obama and McCain, and followed with an extraordinary day in which more than 700 leaders from every sector of American life laid out a blueprint for launching a new era of service in America. We unveiled a comprehensive policy proposal, Senator Orrin Hatch and Caroline Kennedy (on behalf of her uncle, Senator Ted Kennedy) announced major new service legislation, and a number of participating organizations announced important new service-related commitments.
Two weeks after the Summit, on September 27, we organized a Day of Action. At more than 2700 events across the country, thousands of Americans joined together in their communities and demonstrated the power of service.
