CHANGEWIRE BLOG
by: Tim | January 5th, 2009

Well, not really me. You. That is if you choose to participate in the Case Foundation’s fascinating new Change Begins With Me campaign. Here is how it works. You enter by completing the following, in 250 characters or less: “Change begins with me. I commit to…” All commitments, big and small, are welcome. And in return for putting your commitment on paper, err, online, and pledging to help bring about change, you will become eligible to win an all expenses paid trip for two to the Inauguration. This includes airfare, a three night hotel stay, and tickets to the Inaugural ceremony and the Hawaii Ball. Plus, on Jan. 19th, you will be invited to participate in the ServiceNation service leader breakfast, and a service project at the Stephens Elementary School in DC’s Anacostia neighborhood. That’s a pretty fantastic prize (I’d love to win, and I already live in DC!).

What is the thinking behind this cool campaign? Here’s what the Case Foundation says:

As we usher in this exciting new era of change we recognize that everyone has a part to play. So, how will YOU commit to bringing about change in your neighborhood, your community or your nation? The Case Foundation is calling on citizens across the country to join the Change Begins With Me campaign by sharing how you will be part of the change.

No idea is too big or too small. Everyone has a role to play.

To find out more about this campaign, you can check out the FAQs. And this blog post by Jean Case about the launch of the campaign is also well worth a read. So hurry up and make your commitment. Only 6 days left (entries close 3pm EST on January 12, 2009).
