Charity Navigator’s got a new report on the most charitable cities. Miami, San Diego, and Houston top the list, while Baltimore, Indianapolis, and Detroit were the bottom three. The report focuses on financial health of charities - that is, how much money they have and how they spend it, and creates a city’s score about the financial performance.
Neither of “my” cities - Chicago & DC - made the top or bottom 5, but more investigation revealed they were 9th and 6th, respectively. That link has the entire report in detail - you can see the specific stats on fundraising efficiency, CEO compensation, and overall score. Really thought-provoking, and a ton of material to browse.
